The mortared verges are common weak spot on a roof. The mortar cracks and comes away, leaving the verge tiles insecure and an creating an opening for rain to enter.
Often overlooked, the flashing around outlets and at upstands will eventually weather and require replacement. This is more common on slate roofs as they have a greater lifespan.

How to tell if I need a roof repair or if the roof needs replaced?
Generally speaking, unless the roof is old or catastrophically damaged, a repair will suffice. Depending on the scale of the repair work, it may be more economical to go for a full replacement.
Do I need scaffolding for a roof repair?
Depending on the nature of the repair work, scaffolding may be required. If the remedial repair work is up to two storeys and not expected to take long, then a ladder should suffice. But if its greater than two storeys, expected to take a while or there are heavy materials involved, scaffolding will be necessary. We will manage the scaffolding contract on your behalf.
How long will a roof repair last?
